Mexico becomes first developing country to pass legislation on climate changeIn what can be called as one of the boldest steps ever taken by the developing countries on climate change, Mexico passed the law that makes the CO2 emission reduction and targets of renewable energy mandatory. India was one of the first countries to make National Plan on Climate Change in 2008. Mexico has gone further to make legislation to implement its own plan.

Karan Mangotra - Climate Change LeaderKaran Mangotra specializes in climate change mitigation and international climate policy and negotiations. He holds an MBA degree in Strategic Carbon Management from the University of East Anglia, UK. Karan also works as a consultant at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Karan also possesses an engineering degree in computer science from B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore. Prior to his experience at TERI, he has worked at TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) for as a project manager handling energy efficiency projects in TCS buildings in Mumbai.
